Modus Champions Well-Being at the Workspace Design Show 2024

In the dynamic field of workplace design, integrating well-being principles into the physical environment has emerged as a pivotal strategy for fostering a healthy, productive, and innovative workforce. With over three decades of experience in the office design and build industry, Modus has witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of well-being-focused design on employee satisfaction and organisational success.

At the recent Workspace Design Show 2024, Purvi Parikh, Head of Design Management at Modus and a leading voice in workplace wellness design shared invaluable insights into our approach to enhancing well-being in office environments.

At Modus, we encourage workshops and engagement to understand the unique needs of an organisation's workforce. We do this by fostering workplace interactions that encourage healthy relationships and accommodating neurodiversity to ensure an inclusive environment. By actively involving employees in the design process, we ensure that the workspace reflects their needs and preferences, leading to spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also psychologically supportive.

Our commitment to well-being in design is not just about addressing immediate needs; it's about anticipating future challenges and evolving workplace trends. By incorporating flexible design elements that can adapt to changing work styles and employee needs, we ensure that our projects remain relevant and supportive over time. This forward-thinking approach sets Modus apart in the industry and underscores our dedication to creating spaces that truly enhance the human experience at work.

As we look to the future, the importance of well-being in workplace design will only continue to grow. Companies seeking to attract and retain top talent must prioritise the creation of work environments that support mental, physical, and social health. Modus are at the forefront of this movement, leveraging our extensive experience and deep understanding of workplace wellness to deliver projects that set new standards in the industry.

At the Workspace Design Show, Purvi discussed our recent project, Publicis Sapient, which focused on design for well-being. The strategy was divided into three segments: Workshops & Engagement, Workplace Interactions, and Neuro-Inclusion. Workshops involved all departments and hierarchical levels to gather input and feedback on topics including well-being. The final design featured a variety of spaces catered to individual needs and preferences including communal areas to promote connection, destination areas on each floor and secluded options catered to privacy preferences.

Success lies in blending diverse spaces for an inclusive environment. Designing for neurodiversity positively impacts retention and comfort, with features like adjustable furniture and diverse finishes addressing the sensory needs of all employees. Our work not only reflects the changing landscape of office design but also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of work life for employees across the globe.

Integrating well-being principles into workplace design is not just a passing trend but a critical factor in shaping the future of work. Our mission remains to create workspaces where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best. This commitment positions Modus at the forefront of the design and build industry, setting new benchmarks for excellence and innovation.
