Ladbrokes Race to the Future in the former Olympic Press Building

Ladbrokes Coral Group, already a key player in Stratford, expanded further by securing 22,000 sq ft in the former Olympic press building at Here East. We won the competitive pitch with an outstanding design concept, particularly for their innovative integration of “scrum areas” into the office layout.

A standout feature is the primary circulation route, designed as a running track laid by a specialist athletics track installation company, adding an authentic sporting touch. This feature links the key elements of the design, unifying the space from the large communal breakout/town hall area, through the football players’ tunnel, to the soft meeting spaces and central open-plan tech testing lab.

Meeting rooms were designed as a series of pavilions with floating plasterboard ceilings, giving the appearance of floating under the exposed base build services. The Olympic heritage of the site is highlighted in the graphics used throughout the office, with bold images and text celebrating British Olympians from the successful 2012 London Games.
