First impressions matter for a company protecting some of the world’s most critical infrastructure. OPSWAT’s new London headquarters at HYLO was designed to deliver precisely that: a bold reception with a live demo wall to engage clients the moment they arrive, alongside a workplace that brings people together through flexible desking and cultural spaces for the team.
Project in Brief
- Established OPSWAT’s first London headquarters at HYLO
- Designed a client-focused reception and 96-inch demo wall for live showcases
- Used DESSO carpet with up to 91% recycled content and Cradle to Cradle® Silver certification
From Serviced Space to Showcase
The new headquarters was developed to serve both client and employee needs. Central to the brief was a client-forward arrival experience, with a reception and demo wall that immediately immerses visitors in the OPSWAT brand. A boardroom, meeting rooms, and an IT lab with a live ‘lab wall’ were introduced to support presentations and demonstrations.
The space supports employees through open-plan desking, flexible seating, and cultural amenities. Social and breakout areas, including a pool table and club-style lounge, add a sense of community and balance to the working environment.
Our team adapted quickly when the client’s requirements evolved during the process, refining the brief and adjusting solutions to maintain impact while aligning with OPSWAT’s priorities.
Protecting Identity, Preserving Resources
The HYLO building’s industrial character inspired the design, with exposed concrete, anodised metal, and darker tones creating a contemporary aesthetic. OPSWAT’s brand identity was woven into the workspace through teal and blue highlights, signage, paint, and a backlit reception logo.
Existing ceilings were retained to minimise waste, while flooring was specified to meet environmental goals. Tarkett’s iD Inspiration Loose-Lay LVT was selected for its glue-free installation, reducing VOC emissions and enabling tiles to be lifted and reused. Workspace areas were finished with DESSO Recharge carpet tiles from Tarkett’s Origin Collection, containing 66.5% recycled and bio-based content and up to 91% recycled content in the backing. Fully recyclable and Cradle to Cradle® Silver certified, these tiles have a carbon footprint up to six times lower than comparable products.
