In partnership with Techspace, we transformed a former Gordon’s Gin Distillery into a serviced office space that doubled the building’s original capacity, meeting the needs of Techspace’s growing tenant base. The design features flexible, industrial-style offices with a focus on sustainability through furniture and material reuse.
Project in Brief
- Doubled workstation capacity from 400 to 841 workstations.
- Integrated the building’s past as a gin distillery with subtle design elements.
- Extensive reuse of existing furniture and materials.
Blending History and Sustainability
140 Goswell Road previously served as a Tanqueray and Gordon’s gin distillery. This was subtly incorporated into the design through green accents, a nod to the iconic colour of both Gordon’s and Tanqueray’s gin bottles.
Key architectural features, such as the original timber columns and exposed concrete, were carefully preserved, blending the building’s industrial heritage with contemporary functionality.
Sustainability was central to the project, with a focus on minimising waste by repurposing existing materials. Carpets and furniture from the previous fit-out were thoughtfully integrated into the new design.
Materials with high recycled content, including tiles and countertops, were chosen to minimise the environmental impact while maintaining the high-quality finish Techspace required.
Designed for Growth
The result is a highly welcoming and sustainable workspace that caters to the needs of today’s workforce. This space positions Techspace as a leading contender in the London serviced office market, supporting its ambitious growth plans.
