Fora Greencoat Place is a contemporary coworking space, set within a building with a rich history dating back to the late 19th Century. Once part of the iconic Army and Navy store, our design team carefully restored its original features while seamlessly integrating modern
Project Brief
- Blend historical features with modern design for a functional coworking space.
- Create flexible areas for both events and casual meetings.
- Retain the building’s character while optimising natural light and workspace efficiency.
A Blend of History and Modern Design
The design preserves the building’s original vaulted ceilings, cast-iron columns, and steel doors. The double-height reception area offers an impressive entrance, highlighting the building’s authentic materials and heritage. Two historic halls take centre stage, with one hall transformed into a flexible communal space for events and casual coworking, while the other serves as a workspace flooded with natural light from a large skylight.
Elegant and Versatile Coworking Space
Original brickwork and layers of paint were deliberately exposed to showcase the building’s renovation process, adding a sense of history. The soft interior palette of lime-washed oak and textured fabrics contrasts beautifully with the industrial architecture, while arch-shaped details echo the historic arches within the halls. Colourful mosaic tiling, inspired by nearby discoveries, adds a modern twist to the communal areas.
The refurbished Fora Greencoat Place combines contemporary functionality with historic charm, creating a stunning coworking space that stands as one of London’s most beautiful work environments.
